Paida means the removal of poisonous waste from the body. It is a “self-healing” technique that involves the act of slapping or being slapped. It was founded by Xiao Hongchi, a Chinese therapist who believed that slapping oneself or being slapped repeatedly could help your body get rid of the toxins that could be causing your sickness.
What is Paida?
Paida means patting (pai) in Chinese and slapping (da) your skin. In Latin, however, it is the act of positioning your body in specific postures to allow your muscles to stretch.
PaidaLajin has gained popularity across the globe with many attending workshops organized by Mr. Xiao. The aim of the workshops is to demonstrate how you should do the slapping. According to Mr. Xiao, you need to slap yourself or have someone slap you vigorously until your skin turns reddish. Some individuals will have a skin that appears bruised. The head and joints are the body parts Mr. Xiao believes will respond to this self-healing technique.
You can opt to stretch over the table, on the floor, against the walls, or against a doorframe to help with diagnosis. If you have tight muscles, motion will be difficult due to limited flexibility. Each time you try to move with right muscles, your back may be strained causing severe pain. Stretching is a great way of healing your injured back. In fact, doing muscle stretching postures will protect your back against any future ache. This is because the back muscles will be stronger and at a lower risk of experiencing a back strain.
The Benefits of Paida Lajin
The paida lajin technique is associated with the concept of Chinese traditional healing practices. A Chinese healing tradition referred to as “sha” leads people to believe that the blood sometimes is poisoned by toxins that need to be removed from the body. The practitioners of paida and lajin believe that these “self-healing” techniques promote blood circulation and draws out the “sha”. According to Mr. Xiao, every time your body releases “sha,” it indicates that you have an inactive disease.
The paida technique is associated with the ancient Taoist practitioners and their purpose of applying it was to treat the old injuries. It originated from the belief that when you are patted or slapped, this act will activate significant energy channels that will eventually remove toxins and the negative energy that is stagnant. This will then cure your ailment/s and boost your health.
Xiao Hongchi has been promoting the paida lajin technique for a long time now with the aim of teaching patients unique DIY health management strategies. He aims to integrate the principles applied by Taoists, Buddhists, as well as the Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) practices. The success that Paida lajin has achieved so far is attributable to the positive energy that patients experience whether doing it themselves or with others. The concentration, intensity, and duration of practicing paida lajin is also user-friendly.
